Unfortunately I recently ran out of my favourite Vitamin C Serum, and after being very impressed by some of the Boots Ingredients 2026 range, I thought that I would check out some more of their own-brand Skincare and see if any of their Vitamin C Serums were any good. Well after scrolling through their Website for a good half an hour, I eventually picked up a Bottle of the Boots Modern Chemistry Glow 10% Vitamin C Serum with Ferulic Acid that claims to leave you with silky soft, hydrated and brighter-looking Skin, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Butylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Ferulic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, and Ethylhexylglycerin, I thought that it had a very overwhelming deep and woody yet ever so slightly zesty Cedarwood scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had accidentally set a Cedar Tree on Fire.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Vitamin C Serum, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous, and was more like an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous Facial Oil rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Facial Serum.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous Facial Oil into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly oily Facial Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear, a lot brighter and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t managed to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my eyes.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short rectangular Glass Bottle with a Rubber Pipette Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Boots Modern Chemistry Glow 10% Vitamin C Serum with Ferulic Acid a seven out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very overwhelming deep and woody yet ever so slightly zesty Cedarwood scent.
