I absolutely love cleansing my Face with a Cleansing Balm at the end of a long, hard day, especially when i’ve been wearing SPF, as it always manages to get rid of it with very minimal effort. But with me currently having an Eczema flare-up underneath my Eyes, i’m trying to use things that are either developed specifically for Sensitive Skin or contain a blend of ingredients that claim to soothe Eczema-prone Skin. That’s why when I saw that By Beauty Bay had released a Chamomile + Oat Lipid Cleansing Balm that claims to contain a blend of Chamomile and Oat Lipid to help cleanse, soothe, repair and nourish Sensitive Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Its scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Sweet Almond Oil, Babassu Seed Oil, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Sunflower Seed Wax, Oat Kernel Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol, Eucalyptus Leaf Oil, Tocopherol, Panthenol, Linonene, Citric Acid, Disabolol,Chamomile Flower Extract, and Water, I thought that it had a very strange deep and musky yet ever so slightly nutty Sunflower Seed scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had burnt some out of date Sunflower Seed Oil.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Cleansing Balm, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly buttery, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly buttery Block of Butter rather than a thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Cleansing Balm.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had scooped a little bit of it out with the included Spatula and had started to massage it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly buttery Block of Butter into a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Cleansing Balm that spread really easily across my Face. I also really liked that once I had added a little bit of Water to it, that it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Cleansing Balm into a thin and milky yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Milk that was really easy to remove.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked its packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the By Beauty Bay Chamomile + Oat Lipid Cleansing Balm a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly buttery consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and musky yet ever so slightly nutty Sunflower Seed scent. I also wish that it was available in a much bigger Tub, as 90ml of a Cleansing Balm doesn’t last that long, especially if you’re using it Morning and Evening like you’re supposed to do.
