A couple of weeks ago, both me and Jamie went to see Girls Aloud perform their The Girls Aloud Show Tour at the First Direct Arena Leeds, and after having an absolutely amazing time, I thought that I would tell you all about it.
Firstly, I just have to say that their support act, Mr. Theo was amazing, as he played some remixes of some fantastic 90’s and 2000’s Music, including Hot ‘N’ Juicy, Whitney Housten, The Pussycat Dolls, Shania Twain, and Anastacia. I was a little bit apprehensive about them being supported by a D.j though, as I thought that he would just play a load of Dance or Trance Songs that are essentially just a string of random Beats with about three lines of lyrics. but luckily I was really wrong.

Their entrance of Untouchable was outstanding, because as well as being so full of base and having quite a cinematic opening to it that it shook the floor, it also got everyone in the mood for the rest of the evening.
They of course performed The Show, Something New, No Good Advice, Graffiti My Soul, Sexy! No No No, and Call The Shots, which I thought were all amazing.
Their more Ballad-like songs were also outstanding, as they performed Can’t Speak French, hole Lotta History, and I’ll Stand By You, which I thought all sounded fantastic.
I also really liked that they kept referencing Sarah Harding, as the entire show was basically in memory of her, including mentioning that she’s no longer with us before singing Whole Lotta History, mentioning that she’ll always be with us before singing I’ll Stand By You, and even by leaving the stage to a very emotional solo performance of The Promise.
Another thing that I really liked was all of the Audience Interaction, as it was Nadine’s Birthday on the day that we went, and as well as poking a little bit of fun at her because of the infamous Popstars Clip where she forgot her date of birth, they also brought a Cake out for her as we all collectively sang Happy Birthday. Plus with it being the first time that they had performed in Leeds and Kimberly being from Bradford, they asked quite a few times throughout the Show if anyone else was from Bradford too.
One of the really cool parts of the evening for me was when they sang Sound of the Undergroud, as they let of some kind of Fire Machine, and with us being sat in the front row, I could actually feel the heat coming off of it.
All of their performance was amazing, but I really liked that they finished off with Something Kinda Ooooh before coming back out for an encore of The Promise with the very emotional solo performance of Sarah Harding, as I thought that it brought the show to a really nice end.
This was just a few of my favourite moments from the evening, but they also performed a whole lot more, and I of course was singing, clapping and generally rocking out to it all. My Voice and Throat actually hurt quite a lot the next day, but I guess that’s just the result of a fantastic evening.
I’m absolutely thrilled to have finally seen them perform live after being a fan for so long, and if you can still manage to get your Hands on some Tickets, I highly recommend that you go see them as they’re amazing!
