I’m Your Charity Case, So Buy Me Somethin’ To Eat | Lush Charity Pot Body Lotion

One of the things that I used to love about Lush, was that they always had little Tins of Charity Pot Hand & Body Lotion by the side of the Till to try and raise Money for the various different worthwhile causes that they supported through their Charity Pot Fund. Unfortunately though, in their infinite wisdom, back in 2024 they sadly decided to discontinue all of their Charity Pot Products and release limited edition Giving Products instead. That’s why when I had heard that they had rereleased it with 75% of Profits minus Tax going towards helping worthwhile causes, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Lush say about their Charity Pot Body Lotion.

The Pot that does a lot!
The Skin-softening, change-making Pot that does a lot is back — proof that when you Protest hard enough, anything is possible. In 2007, we set out to cause absolute change-making chaos by raising £1 million with Charity Pot, but this little legend raised over £80 million. That’s thousands of Grassroot Charities, Campaigning Groups and countless other amazing causes across the Globe you’ve supported by purchasing Charity Pot. Because the World needs more local activism (and you demanded its return!) we’ve brought it back for a new era of soft, soft Skin and hard-hitting change. Don’t wait any longer: moisturise and mobilise!

Make an impact with this Giving Product.

75% of sales price, minus tax, will be donated to fund Grassroots Activism in the areas of Human Rights, Environment and Animal Protection.

We offer small Grants for Organisations protecting People, Planet and Animals.

What’s in it for you?

  • Ideal for giving generously. Because one good deed deserves another, we’ve filled this Cream with the Cream of the crop.
  • Organic Olive oil, boosts Skin surface suppleness, locks in hydration without heaviness.
  • Moringa Oil, rich in Antioxidants, which protect against oxidative stress.
  • Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, replenishes lost lipids, shields against Water loss.
  • Ylang Ylang Oil, boosts Skin Balance, fragrantly floral.
  • Shea Butter, a super emollient with a rich Fatty Acid profile and Vitamins A, E and F.

Leaving the World Lusher than we found it.

Soothing, softening and Anti-Bacterial, we purchase whole Aloe Leaves from a small Producer in Spain and extract the Gel ourselves In House, super fresh!
The Fair Trade Cocoa Beans used to make our Cocoa Butter come from the Dominican Republic, Peru and Sierra Leone, where they are grown using Organic Methods, and Agroforestry Models are in place to protect Local Forests.

How to use.

Soft Skin. Hard-hitting change. You’d want to apply this sweet and floral Cream all over your Body even if it wasn’t for a good cause.

How to store.

Don’t let a good thing go to waste, store with the Lid on between uses.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Glycerin, Moringa Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Stearic Acid, Shea Butter, Triethanolamine, Geranium Oil, Rosewood Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil, Vanilla Extract, Bergamot Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Fresh Aloe Vera Gel, Cetearyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Beta-Caryophyllene, Citral, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geranyl Acetate, Limonene, Linalool, Linalyl Acetate, Pinene, Santalol, Terpineol, Geraniol, Vanillin, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly floral and grassy Moringa and Ylang Ylang scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured an entire Bottle of Moringa Oil over a massive Pile of freshly-picked Ylang Ylang Petals.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Body Lotion, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Butter rather than a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Lotion.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Butter into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Body Lotion that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, much healthier and smelling of delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly floral and grassy Moringa and Ylang Ylang for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Black Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush Charity Pot Body Lotion a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly floral and grassy Moringa and Ylang Ylang scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was available in a much bigger Tub, as with it being a great all-round Moisturiser for my Body, Hands and even my Face, 100g didn’t last that long. I also wish that it was available in some kind of a Metal or Plastic Tube so that I could take it with me where ever I go.
