One of the Lush ranges that I always look forward to checking out, especially when it comes to one of their Co-create Ranges, definitely has to be their Lunar New Year range, as it’s usually quite a good indicator of what’s to come from the rest of the Co-Create Ranges throughout the year, including Diwali, Eid, and White Day. That’s why when I had heard that they had released a Lunar New Year 2026 range, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up a Gallop To Success Bath Bomb, a Horsepower Massage Bar, and a Tub of Black Tea Mochi Face Mask, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.
Here’s what Lush say about all three amazing products.

“In Chinese, there is an old saying called “Lü Bu of the man, Chi Tu of the Horse”, 人中呂布,馬中赤兔, Lü Bu is a famous Warlord from the late Eastern Han Dynasty Era in China and Chi Tu is his wonderful and powerful Horse. People describe Chi Tu as capable of galloping across Cities and leaping over Moats. The Bath Bomb name, Gallop To Success, is meant to wish people can achieve their New Year Resolution as fast and strong as Chi Tu with their brand-new self.”

Co-Create is a Product Creation Programme for Lush Staff, aiming to promote diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging by lifting up authentic stories from respective communities. Co-Creator Ashlee Weeks shares her inspiration for this Lunar New Year product:
“Horsepower is not only a an homage to the Year of the Horse, but is also a reference to the power that the Massage Bar provides when used. The power comes from the Spices and Camphor, which will make it an amazing product for anyone in need of an invigorating Massage and warming boost. The product is inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine Oils, where Camphor is utilised for its invigorating and warming properties. Additionally, the Massage Bar features a depiction inspired by Chinese Zodiac Paper Art.”

It’s scent.
I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Alcohol Denat, Cornstarch, Fragrance, Bergamot Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Orange Flower Absolute, Sicilian Red Mandarin Oil, Popping Candy, Titanium Dioxide, Water, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Propylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Silica, Tin Oxide, Limonene, Linalool, Colour 15985:1, Colour 19140:1, Colour 14700, Colour 19140, Colour 77491, and Colour 45410:1, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly grassy Orange Flower scent to it that kind of reminded me of walking past an Orange Tree on a balmy Spring Afternoon.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once it hit the Water, it fizzed and hissed for a couple of seconds before releasing streams of beautiful bright Orange all over the surface of the Water, and then after a couple more seconds it also released streams of gorgeous bright Gold Lustre all over the surface of the Water that eventually blended with the beautiful bright Orange to turn my entire Bath a stunning shimmering burnt Orange colour. I also really liked that once it had finally finished fizzing and hissing, that it released little pieces of Popping Candy all over the surface of the Water that made it sound like a Horse was actually galloping around my Bath.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it smelling of delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly grassy Orange Flower for hours after I had used it.

It’s scent.
I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Benzoin Resinoid Extract, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Clove Bud Oil, Lime Oil), Brazilian Orange Oil, Patchouli Oil, Camphor, Paprika Oleoresin, Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Silica, Tin Oxide, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Cinnamate, Cinnamal, Citral, Coumarin, Eugenol, Isoeugenol, Limonene, Linalool, Fragrance, and Colour 77491, I thought that it had a delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly zesty Hot Toddy scent to it that kind of reminded me of drinking a massive Mug of Hot Toddy on a freezing cold Winter’s Night.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had slightly warmed it between my Hands and had started to massage it into my Skin, it started to release lots of incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Lotion all over my Body that sank into my Skin within a matter of minutes. I also really liked that because of all of the Camphor, that it created a really nice but subtile warming sensation when I was massaging it into my Skin which was perfect for whenever my Arms, Legs or any other Muscles were feeling sore.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, invigorated, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it smelling of delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly zesty Hot Toddy for at least an hour after I had used it.

It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Kaolin, Black Tea Infusion, Cornstarch, Glycerine, Sake, Organic Jojoba Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Almond Essential Oil, Green Tea Powder, Agar Agar, Black Sesame Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Fragrance, and Dried Black Tea, I thought that it had a very overwhelming deep and nutty yet ever so slightly malty Black Tea and Sesame Seed scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured an entire Bottle of Sesame Seed Oil into a massive Mug of Black Tea.
It’s consistency.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Face Mask, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy mushed up piece of Mochi rather than a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Face Mask.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy mushed up piece of Mochi into a thick and balmy yet ever so slightly oily Face Mask that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, matte, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for at least an entire 24 hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Clear Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Lush Gallop To Success Bath Bomb a nine out of ten, the Lush Horsepower Massage Bar an eight point five out of ten, and the Lush Black Tea Mochi Face Mask a five out of ten. I really liked the Lush Gallop To Success Bath Bomb, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly grassy Orange Flower scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wish that it was part of their main range. I really liked the Lush Horsepower Massage Bar, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly zesty Hot Toddy scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Cinnamon Leaf Oil. I really liked the Lush Black Tea Mochi Face Mask, as I absolutely loved what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very overwhelming deep and nutty yet ever so slightly malty Black Tea and Sesame Seed scent, or it’s incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy consistency.
