Caught In A Bad Romance | Lush Massage Bar 2023 Range

Even though i’m always trying to use more solid products in my Body Care Routine, one of the products that I just can’t seem to get along with definitely has to be Solid Body Lotions or Massage Bars, as I just can’t seem to find one that I actually like the scent of. That’s why when I had heard that Lush had relaunched all of their Massage Bars as well as added two brand new scents to the range, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up a True Romance Massage Bar, and a Turmeric Latte Massage Bar, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Lush say about both amazing products.

The True Romance Massage Bar.

An irresistible Rose scented Massage.
Irresistible Rose scented Massages await. The radiant Rose and enticing Jasmine fragrance of the Lush Spa combines with Argan Oil and Rose Clay, leaving you and your Skin with a rosy glow!
Our Massage Bars have been formulated with moisturising Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter and Organic Shea Butter, which are naturally rich in Vitamin E. Using the finest quality Essential Oils for their beautiful scent, their Skin-loving qualities, and the positive effects that they can have on your Body and Mind.

How to use.

Melt the Bar directly onto Dry Skin and massage the Oils and Butters in. If the Bar is cold, begin by warming between your Hands to melt. Our Massage Bars are generously Oil-rich, so apply as much or as little as desired and re-apply as needed.

How to store.

Keep this buttery Bar fresh and clean in a lidded container like one of our Oval Tins.

Melt warning.

Store in a cool place away from direct Sunlight. In very hot Weather, store in the Fridge to avoid meltdowns.

The Turmeric Latte Massage Bar.

Warming Tonka and velvety Vanilla.
As Night draws in, snuggle up with the cosy scent of Vanilla, creamy Tonka Absolute and a hint of Spice. Perfect for cold days, this Massage Bar feels like a reassuring Hug.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Fragrance, Jasmine Absolute, Neroli Oil, Osmanthus Absolute, Rose Oil, Argan Oil, Rose Clay, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral, Citronellol, Eugenol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellol, Limonene, and Linalool, I thought that it had a very strange deep and floral yet ever so slightly sweet Rose scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured a massive Bucket of Rancid Rainwater over an entire Bouquet of Red Roses.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had slightly warmed it between my Hands and had started to massage it into my Skin, it started to release lots of incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Lotion all over my Body that sank into my Skin within a matter of minutes.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it smelling of very strange deep and floral yet ever so slightly sweet Rose for at least an hour after I had used it.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Fragrance, Tonka Absolute, Benzoin Resinoid, Vanilla Absolute, Anise Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Cinnamate, Cinnamal, Coumarin, Eugenol, and Limonene, I thought that it had a delicious deep and creamy yet ever so slightly smokey burnt Latte scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you walk into a Coffee Shop after they’ve been making lots of Lattes.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush True Romance Massage Bar a five out of ten, and the Turmeric Latte Massage Bar a nine out of ten. I really liked the Lush True Romance Massage Bar, as I absolutely loved what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and floral yet ever so slightly sweet Rose scent.
