Crystals Aren’t The Only Thing That Have A Smooth & Youthful Appearance | Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6

I’ve used some kind of Retinal in my Skincare Routine for over ten years now, and can definitely say that it’s one of the main reasons that my Skin looks and feels so silky soft, smooth and youthful. Unfortunately though, although everyone raves about the Medik8 Crystal Retinal range, I haven’t actually tried anything from  it yet, as it’s just a little bit too much out of my price range. That’s why when I saw that CultBeauty had released a The Skinindulgent Kit that contained a Tube of the Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 that claims to leave you with silky soft, smooth, calm and younger-looking Skin whilst I was scrolling through Instagram a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

A tall conical metallic silver plastic tube with a metallic silver pump lid that has Medik8 Crystal Retinal written in bright white writing on it surrounded by some large streaks of some creamy beige Facial Serum, on a white background.

How to use.

Step one.

If you’re new to Crystal Retinal we recommend a Patch Test at least 24 hours before first use.
After Cleansing in the Evening, apply two pumps of Crystal Retinal to the Face and Neck. Allow to absorb then follow with a Moisturiser.

Step two.

For new users of Crystal Retinal, phase application in gradually. Use twice a week for the first 2 weeks, every other Night for the next 2 weeks, then every Night. You should always use a Sunscreen the next Morning after using Vitamin A.
We recommend using at least 1 tube of your current Crystal Retinal strength before moving up the Ladder to the next strength.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Isododecane, Cetearyl Olivate, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Cetearyl Alcohol, PPG-12/SMDI Copolymer, Sorbitan Olivate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Titanium Dioxide, False Daisy Extract, Cyclodextrin, Squalane, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Meem Leaf Extract, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamin C, Cloudberry Seed Oil, Alumina, Isostearic Acid, Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Stearic Acid, Pentylene Glycol, Retinal, Moringa Seed Oil, Sodium Polyaspartate, Climbazole, Disodium EDTA, Japanese Honeysuckle Flower Extract, Italian Honeysuckle Flower Extract, Carrot Seed Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Tonka Bean Extract, Hydroxyacetophenone, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Vanilla Fruit Extract, Decylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, BHT, and Coumarin, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and nutty yet ever so slightly floral Almond and Ylang Ylang scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had coated an entire Frangipani Tart in a layer of Ylang Ylang Petals.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Retinal Serum, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Cream Cleanser rather than a thin and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous Retinal Serum.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Cream Cleanser into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Retinal Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, a lot younger, a little bit brighter and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes, and that it also managed to visibly minimise some of the Fine Lines and Wrinkles that are around my Eyes and Forehead.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short and wide conical Plastic Tube with a Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and nutty yet ever so slightly floral Almond and Ylang Ylang scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just can’t justify spending £69 on a Retinal Serum, as I think that there are a lot of other Retinal Serums currently on the Market that do a similar job for a lot less Money.
