I always try to use some kind of Vitamin A Cream, Oil, or Serum at least three times a week in my Nighttime Skincare Routine, because as well as helping to keep Blemishes at bay, it also helps to minimise some of the Fine Lines and Wrinkles that are around my Eyes and Forehead thanks to years of squinting at things. That’s why when I saw that Latest In Beauty had released a Glow Plan Beauty Edit with Abigail James that contained a Bottle of Disciple Dreamy Skin Retinyl Oil that claims to leave you with silky soft, hydrated and younger-looking Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website last year, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

How to use.

Gently massage four to five drops into cleansed Skin every Night. Pat around the Orbital Area. Use on top of Serums and underneath or in place of Moisturiser. Because of the regenerative powers of this Treatment Oil, it is important to wear SPF, Sun Protection, during the day.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Rosehip Seed Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Retinyl Palmitate, Chamomile Oil, Frankincense Oil, Jasmine Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Ashwagandha Oil, Burdock Root Extract, and Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, I thought that it had a very strange deep and resinous yet ever so slightly milky Frankincense scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you open a massive Bottle of some out of date Frankincense Oil.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Retinyl Oil, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Oil rather than a thin and oily yet ever so slightly watery Retinyl Oil.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Oil into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly watery Facial Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, younger, a little bit brighter and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it manage to minimise some of the Fine Lines and Wrinkles that are around my Eyes and Forehead, and that it didn’t manage to irritate the patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Glass Bottle with a Rubber Pipette Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Disciple Dreamy Skin Retinyl Oil a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved its incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy consistency, what it did when I used it, its results, and its packaging. But I just wasn’t a massive fan of its very strange deep and resinous yet ever so slightly milky Frankincense scent. I also wish that it was available in a much bigger Bottle, as 20ml of a Retinyl Oil doesn’t last that long, especially if you’re using it every night like you’re supposed to do.
