A couple of weeks ago, both me and Jamie went to see one of my favourite 90’s Pop Bands, Steps, perform their What The Future Holds Tour in Manchester, and after having an absolutely amazing time, I thought that I would tell you all about it.
Firstly, I just have to say that their Support Act, Sophie Ellis-Bextor was incredible, as I really liked that she performed a ton of my favourite Songs including Take Me Home, a mashup of Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love) and Sing It Back, Get Over You, Murder on the Dancefloor, and a brilliant version of Like A Prayer which got the entire Arena in the mood for the rest of the evening.

Their entrance of What The Future Holds was outstanding, because as well as being so full of base and having a really cinematic vibe to it that it shook the Floor, it also got everyone in the mood for the rest of the evening.
They of course performed 5, 6, 7, 8, Heartbreak In This City with a screen of Michelle Visage in the background, Say You’ll Be Mine, Chain Reaction, Stomp, Love’s Got A Hold On My Heart, and Deeper Shade of Blue, which I thought were all amazing,
Their more Ballad-like Songs were also outstanding, as they performed Neon Blue, One For Sorrow, and It’s The Way You Make Me Feel, which I thought all sounded fantastic.
I also really liked that they performed a couple of covers where each Member got their own chance to shine, including Baby Love, It’s Not Unusual, Son of a Preacher Man, You’re My World, and Wild Thing, and that they also performed Better The Devil You Know mixed with a cover of Vogue where they had rewritten part of the Song to include some 90’s Pop sensations.
Another thing that I really liked was all of the Audience interaction, as they were constantly talking to us and telling us stories about their lives, eluding to some of the plans that they have to celebrate their 25 year anniversary next year, and even wishing a couple in the Audience good luck on their Wedding Day that was happening the following day.
All of their performance was amazing, but I really liked that they finished off with an encore of Here and Now, Scared of the Dark, and Tragedy, as I thought that it brought the Show to a really nice end.
This was just a few of my favourite moments of the evening, but they also performed a whole lot more, and I of course was singing, clapping and generally rocking out to it all. My Voice and Throat actually hurt quite a lot the next day, but I guess that’s just the result of a fantastic evening.
I am absolutely thrilled to have finally seen them perform live after being a fan ever since I was a Child, and if you can still manage to get your Hands on some Tickets, I highly recommend that you go see them as they’re amazing!
