It’s no secret that I love using any kind of Skincare that comes in a Stick, whether that’s a Face Mask, a Moisturiser, or a Facial Serum, but one of the things that i’ve never gotten around to trying is an SPF Stick, as until recently they haven’t been that easy to get hold of. That’s why when I saw that Boots had released a Fresh Faced Skincare Favourites Edit Set that contained a Tube of the Beauty of Joseon Mugwort + Camilia Matte Sun Stick SPF50+ PA++++ that claims to leave you with silky soft, matte and protected Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Beauty of Joseon say about their Mugwort + Camilia Matte Sun Stick SPF50+PA++++.
Our Matte Sun Stick was developed with Ramón @glowbyramon, an Influencer and Cosmetic Chemist, as the director. It was created after an extensive collaboration by meticulously going through all the processes that fall under Beauty of Joseon’s brand philosophy of Modern Hanbang Skincare.
While most Sun Sticks are tailored for outdoor pursuits, we’ve designed ours to be just as beneficial in our everyday Urban Environments. Regular Sunscreen reapplication every two to three hours is crucial for optimal SPF and PA protection, but it’s often challenging. Therefore, we’ve engineered a Sun Stick with a matte formula that applies smoothly, without becoming clumpy or greasy, even when reapplied over Makeup.
Our Sun Stick utilises a Sebum-Control Silica Powder to regulate Oil Production, ensuring an adherence boost and a smooth, matte finish. Plus, it’s packed with Oriental Wormwood and Green Tea Extracts, contributing to a smooth Skin Texture while preserving its hydration.
Non-greasy matte sun stick.
It’s a matte Sun Stick without any of the oily or sticky feeling. It’s hygienic as you don’t need to apply it with your Hands, and it’s compact, enabling convenient use anytime, anywhere.
Porous Sebum-Control Silica Powder.
Sebum-Control Silica Powder regulates Sebum on the Skin, giving a smooth and soft-rolling feeling without greasiness.

It’s scent.
I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Synthetic Wax, Dibutyl Adipate, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Caprylyl Methicone, Caprylyl Trimethicone, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Boron Nitride, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Microcrystalline Wax, Polysilicone-15, Vinyl Dimethicone, Camellia Seed Oil, Turmeric Root Extract, Chinaberry Flower Extract, Chinaberry Leaf Extract, Coral Weed Algae Extract, Chinaberry Bark Extract, Holy Basil Leaf Extract, Moringa Seed Oil, Ivy Gourd Fruit Extract, Eggplant Fruit Extract, Amber Powder, Aloe Vera Flower Extract, Jojoba Seed Oil, Oriental Wormwood Extract, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Green Tea Seed Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Bamboo Extract, Tiger Grass Extract, India Mulberry Extract, Mung Bean Seed Extract, PolyglycerylDiisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate, Water, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, and Ethylhexylglycerin, I thought that it had a very subtile fresh and grassy yet ever so slightly creamy and woody Green Tea scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you walk past a Green Tea Plant on a boiling hot Summer’s Day.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to swipe it across my Skin, it ever so slightly started to melt and released lots of incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Sun Cream all over my Face and Body that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds..
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, protected, matte, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short rounded rectangular Plastic Twist Up Tube with a clickable Lid that fitted really easily into my Pocket. I did however notice that it’s Twist Up Mechanism became quite loose after a couple of times of me using it though.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Beauty of Joseon Mugwort + Camilia Matte Sun Stick SPF50+ PA++++ a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s very subtile fresh and grassy yet ever so slightly creamy and woody Green Tea scent, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it’s Twist Up Mechanism had been a little bit tougher so that I didn’t have to worry about it coming loose whenever I used it. I also wish that it was available in a bigger Tube, as 18g of a Sun Stick doesn’t really last that long, especially if you’re using it every two to three hours like you’re supposed to do.
