With my Skin acting up as much as it has been doing lately, one of the things that i’ve really enjoyed doing definitely has to be including a decent thick and oily Facial Serum in my Skincare Routine, as it means that I don’t have to apply layer upon layer of thick and creamy Moisturiser throughout the day. That’s why when I saw that By Beauty Bay had released a 5% Squalane + Grapeseed Oil Serum Hybrid that claims to hydrate, moisturise and brighten Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what i thought of it.

Its scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glycerin, Squalane, Grape Seed Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Propanediol, Jojoba Seed Oil, Octyldodecanol, Evening Primrose Oil, Sodium Chloride, Kakadu Plum Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Tocopherol, Sunflower Seed Oil, Citric Acid, and Sodium Hydroxide, I thought that it had a very strange deep and nutty yet ever so slightly musky Cardboard scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had soaked a massive piece of Cardboard in some rancid Rainwater.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Serum Hybrid, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Oil rather than a thin and oily yet ever so slightly watery Facial Serum.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Oil into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, a little bit brighter and much healthier for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves, I had to press the Pump down quite a few times before it released enough Serum for me to totally cover my Face..
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the By Beauty Bay 5% Squalane + Grapeseed Oil Serum Hybrid an eight point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy consistency, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and nutty yet ever so slightly musky Cardboard scent. I also wish that it had come in a Glass Bottle with a Rubber Pipette Lid rather than in a Plastic Bottle with a Pump Lid so that I could have dispensed enough to totally cover my Face.
