I absolutely love Lush’s Co-Create range, as I really like that it allows me to discover a little bit more about other people’s customs, religions and traditions whilst also discovering some cool and interesting products. That’s why when I had heard that they had released a Dia De Muertos 2024 range with some of the products being created by someone that works at Lush Leeds Spa, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up a Xolo Bath bomb, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Lush say about their Xolo Bath Bomb.
Lead the way.
Indulge in a delightful Bath experience while honouring Día De Los Muertos. Xolo offers a unique combination of a sweet, Candy-like aroma and skin-softening ingredients, providing a moment of relaxation and Cultural connection. This Bath Bomb transforms an ordinary Bath into a celebration, blending tradition with self-care, and offering a sensory escape into the vibrant world of Mexican Artistry and Mythology.
Co-Create is a Product Creation Programme for Lush Staff, aiming to promote diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging by lifting up authentic stories from respective communities. Co-creator Ana Oviedo from Lush Leeds Spa shares her inspiration for this Día De Muertos product.
“Xolo Dogs are seen as the guides to the Underworld, Mictlán, and their name comes from Mexican Mythology. Usually, the ‘Deity’ of Death, Mictlantecuhtli, is portrayed next to his Xolo Dogs. It is important to remember that death in Pre-Hispanic Culture was not seen as something bad but as a process of transformation.”

It’s scent.
I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Cornstarch, Titanium Dioxide, Bergamot Oil, Blackcurrant Absolute, Cypress Oil, Water, Talc, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Dipropylene Glycol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, Tin Oxide, Limonene, Linalool, Fragrance, Colour 42090, Colour 45410:2, Colour 47005:1, Colour 45410, Colour 45410:1, Colour 42090, Colour 42053, Colour 59040, Colour 77491, Colour 77499, and Colour 17200, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly grassy Blackcurrant scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had crushed up and entire Bag of Purple Jelly Babies.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once it hit the Water, it fizzed and hissed for a couple of seconds before releasing streams of beautiful bright Blue and White Foam all over the surface of the Water, and then after a couple more seconds it also released streams of gorgeous bright Pink and Purple all over the surface of the Water that eventually blended with the beautiful bright Blue and White Foam to turn my entire Bath a stunning shimmering Teal colour.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it smelling of delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly grassy Blackcurrant for hours after I had used it.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Lush Xolo Bath Bomb an eight point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly grassy Blackcurrant scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but i just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Blackcurrant. I also wish that it had contained a little bit of Popping Candy to make it sound like a Dog was actually barking in my Bath.
