Like I said in my Lush Diwali 2025 range post and my Lush Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 range post, I really like that Lush has their Co-Create range, as I love the fact that no matter what Religious Celebration, Holiday, or Tradition you celebrate that there’s a product to help you celebrate it. That’s why when I had heard that they had released a Dia De Murtos 2025 range with some of the products being created by someone who works at Lush Leeds Spa, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up a Bottle of Champurrado Shower Gel, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Celebrate Día De Muertos by indulging in molten Cocoa aromas and warming Cinnamon, Clove and Benzoin. Inspired by the warm, Chocolate-Based Drink of the same name, this Body Wash brings the same comforting vibes to the Shower, and as an extra treat, we’ve added hydrating Carrageenan Extract for sumptuously soft Skin.
Co-Create is a Product Creation Programme for Lush Staff, aiming to promote diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging by lifting up authentic stories from respective communities.
Co-creator Ruby Iris Chacon was inspired to create a product to feel “as cosy as a warm Hug de tu ser querido.”
What’s in it for you?
A Lush take on Champurrado — a thick, warm Chocolate Drink originating from Mexico. Unlike the real thing, you can’t drink ours, but you can certainly Shower in it!
Glycerine gives this Shower Gel its hydrating power. Acting as a Humectant, it locks moisture into the Skin. You’re welcome!

The Cocoa Powder used in this Shower Gel is Fair Trade and supports local Farmers.
The Glycerine in this Shower Gel is completely Palm-free and Vegan-friendly.
How to use.
Lather on cosy cocoa Suds then rinse off for delectably soft and deliciously scented Skin.
How to store.
Store with the Lid on in between uses so you don’t cry over spilled Chocolate Milk.
It’s scent.
I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Cinnamon Stick and Clove Infusion, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Fair Trade Cocoa Powder, Lauryl Betaine, Fragrance, Clove Bud Oil, Cocoa Absolute, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Titanium Dioxide, Carrageenan Extract, Benzyl Benzoate, Cinnamal, Coumarin, Eugenol, and Limonene, I thought that it had a delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly animalic Cinnamon, Clove and Chocolate scent to it that kind of reminded me of drinking a massive Mug of Spiced Hot Chocolate in front of a roaring Fire on a freezing cold Winter’s Night.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Shower Gel, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Shower Cream rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Shower Gel.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Shower Cream into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly frothy Shower Gel that spread really easily across my Body.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it smelling of delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly animalic Cinnamon, Clove and Chocolate for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical clear Plastic Bottle with a clickable Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Lush Champurrado Shower Gel an eight out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly animalic Cinnamon, Clove and Chocolate scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Cinnamon and Clove.
