Seven Days In Sunny June Were Long Enough To Bloom | Lush Nanakusa Gayo Face Mask

With me suffering with Eczema, i’m always trying to use more soothing, hydrating and nourishing products in my Skincare Routine, and after trying and loving the Lush Coconut Shie Face Mask, I thought that I would see if they had any more soothing, hydrating or nourishing Face Masks for me to try. That’s why when I had heard that they had released a Nanakusa Gayo Face Mask that claims to contain a seven Herb Rice Porridge to leave you with silky soft, hydrated and nourished Skin, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

A medium circular puddle of some creamy white face mask that has some pieces of Brown Rice Amazake running through it, on a white background.

Here’s what Lush say about their Nanakusa Gayo Face Mask.

Bad luck be gone.
It’s your Skin’s lucky day, celebrate by giving it some gentle nourishment. A seven-Herb Rice Porridge with firming and brightening Parsley, hydrating Daikon and Vitamin B-rich Rice Amazake.

What’s in it for you?

  • Kaolin Clay draws Dirt and excess Oil from the Skin, without stripping moisture, helping support your Skin’s Natural Barrier.
  • A hardy Winter Vegetable for hardy Skin. Rich in Vitamins A and C, Turnips promote a natural glow and help maintain a healthy natural Skin Barrier.
  • Soothing and gentle, as Water is added, Soybean Flour forms a creamy milk which can be massaged into the Skin to hydrate and condition.

Leaving the World Lusher than we found it.

Skin-soothing Benzoin is a Pioneer Species in the Laos Forest, aiding Soil Rehabilitation and helping Woodlands to flourish. Traditionally harvested by the communities with many centuries of knowledge of sustainable extraction and Folk Uses, our suppliers work closely with 10 Villages and 300 Tappers directly. Each Tree only produces around 600 grams of Gum Resin every year, and as the Forests are managed sustainably, only 50% of The trees are tapped each Season.
This Self-Preserving Product is formulated to stay fresh and effective without added Synthetic Preservatives.

How to use.

Apply generously to the Face (use a Brush if you like) and relax for fifteen minutes before rinsing off for gently soothed Skin.

How to store.

This Mask is made fresh and reaches you fresh so you can get the most benefit from the beautiful ingredients inside. It needs to be stored in the Fridge (between 2°C and 8°C) and used within 28 days.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Kaolin, Glycerine, Brown Rice Amazake, Shepherd’s Purse Daisy Flower and Chickweed Decoction, Daikon Radish, Soybean Flour, Fresh Parsley Sprig, Fresh Turnip, Rice Bran Absolute, Lime Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Carob Resinoid, Benzyl Benzoate, Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a very strange deep and fruity yet ever so slightly herbal Radish and Turnip scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured an entire Glass of Red Wine over a massive Pile of some Stewed Radishes and Turnips.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Face Mask, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly grainy, and was more like an incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly grainy Bowl of Porridge rather than a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Face Mask.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly grainy Bowl of Porridge into a thick and creamy Face Mask with little pieces of Brown Rice Amazake running through it that set within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, refreshed, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, a little bit brighter and much healthier for at least an entire 24 hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Clear Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush Nanakusa Gayo Face Mask an eight out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly grainy consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and fruity yet ever so slightly herbal Radish and Turnip scent.
