When The Body Shop sadly went into administration at the beginning of the year, quite a lot of people, including me, were really worried that we were going to lose some of their most iconic products, like their Body Butters, their Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, and even their Hemp Hand Protector. That’s why when I had heard that Lushhad released a The Lush Version range that claims to have taken some of the old formulas from when Mark Constantine, one of their founders, used to work at The Body Shop and had reworked them to give them a new lease of life, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up a Tub of Briziliant Body Butter, a Tub of Ginger Shampoo, a Tub of Mostly Face Wash, and a Tub of Pineapple Facial Wash, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.
Here’s what Lush say about all four amazing products.
The Lush Braziliant Body Butter.
Shell out on Brazil Nut softness.
A richly softening treat of a Butter, made with Brazil Nut Oil, Aloe Vera and Avocado Oil to lavish dry Skin and leave it smooth and fragrant. Our Body Butter recipes are steamed to give them a creamy texture that breaks down easily on the Skin, enabling Water to be absorbed, while a layer of Butters and Oils seal in moisture. This recipe is rich in Brazil Nut Oil, known for its high content of unsaturated Fatty Acids and Vitamin E, plus reputed antioxidant qualities. What’s not to like?

How to use.
If you’ve got it – you know. If you haven’t, that’s fine. Let your Scalp tell you! Use this clarifying Shampoo as and when needed to manage flake-prone Hair. Apply sparingly to begin with and add a little more for thick Hair. Shampoo once. Massage into the Scalp to allow the Salt to work. Rinse thoroughly. Condition. Do not use on Broken Skin.
The Lush Mostly Face Wash.
Make the most of your Skin.
This Honey and Apple Juice classic goes on indulgent but comes off all fresh and tingly. It’s mostly for bristly, Blemish-Prone Skin but you don’t need a Beard to buy it (and you don’t even need a hint of Stubble to love it!). Packed with ingredients known for their clarifying properties, it’s lovely for Skin that gets a bit shiny and stressed.

First, remove your Makeup (we recommend a nice Oil-Based Cleanser like Ultrabland. Then apply this juicy Facial Wash to damp, Makeup-free Skin in upward circles to lift away Dirt and Debris. Rinse away for a brighter-looking complexion.

It’s scent.
I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Organic Brazil Nut Oil, Glycerine, Murumuru Butter, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Almond Oil, Organic Avocado Oil, Propylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Cupuaçu Butter, Triethanolomine, Organic Sweet Orange Oil, Rosewood Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil, Fair Trade Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Cetearyl Alcohol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citral, Eugenol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellol, Limonene, Linalool, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly woody Orange scent to it that kind of reminded me of being sat on a Deck drinking a massive Glass of freshly squeezed Orange Juice on a boiling hot Summer’s Day.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Body Butter, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Cream rather than a thick and buttery yet ever so slightly oily Body Butter.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin ,it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Cream into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Lotion that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it smelling of delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly woody Orange for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short and wide cylindrical Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Hand Harvested Course Sea Salt, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fresh Ginger Root Infusion, Fairly Traded Honey, Fresh Rosemary Infusion, Propylene Glycol, Lauryl Betaine, Ginger Oil, Organic Argan Oil, Organic Avocado Oil, Sunflower Lecithin, Soya Kefir Yoghurt, Mimosa Absolute, Bergamot Oil, Sicilian Red Mandarin Oil, Kenyan Geranium Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Gardenia Extract, Water, Salicylic Acid, Piroctone Olamine, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citronellol, Limonene, Linalool, Fragrance, and Colour 189140, I thought that it had a very strange deep and zesty yet ever so slightly spicy Ginger and Mandarin scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured an entire Bottle of Ginger Shot over some pieces of cut up Mandarin.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Shampoo, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly gritty, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous Shower Gel with little pieces of Course Sea Salt running through it rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Shampoo.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Scalp, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous Shower Gel with little pieces of Course Sea Salt running through it into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly gritty Scalp Scrub that spread really easily through my Hair.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair and Scalp feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, soothed, calm, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left my Hair looking extremely volumised, a lot shinier and much healthier for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical White Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Thyme Infusion, Organic Orange Blossom Honey, Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glyceryl Stearate & PEG-100 Stearate, Wheatgerm Oil, Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Soya Yoghurt, Fresh Apple Juice, Fragrance, Cupuaçu Butter, Peppermint Oil, Australian Sandalwood Oil, Lavender Oil, Witch Hazel Extract, Geraniol, Limonene, and Linalool, I thought that it had a very strange deep and herbal yet ever so slightly medicinal Thyme and Lavender scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured an entire Bottle of Lavender Essential Oil over a massive bunch of Thyme Leaves.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Face Wash, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Styling Paste rather than a thin and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy Face Wash.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Styling Paste into a thin and gelatinous yet ever so slightly frothy Gel Face Wash that spread really easily across my Face.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, matte, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical White Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glyceryl Stearate & PEG-100 Stearate, Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Almond Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Fragrance, Organic Jojoba Oil, Cupuaçu Butter, Fresh Pineapple Juice, Lime Oil, Brazilian Orange Oil, Olibanum Oil, Citral, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellol, Limonene, and Linalool, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and tropical yet ever so slightly zesty Pineapple scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you open a massive Bottle of Pineapple and Mango Smoothie.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Facial Wash, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Cream Cleanser rather than a thin and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily Facial Wash.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Cream Cleanser into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous Facial Wash that spread really easily across my Face.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky smooth, soft, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, brighter and much healthier for hours after I had used it.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical White Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Lush Braziliant Body Butter a nine out of ten, the Lush Ginger Shampoo an eight out of ten, the Lush Mostly Face Wash an eight point five out of ten, and the Lush Pineapple Facial Wash a nine out of ten. I really liked the Lush Braziliant Body Butter, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly woody Orange scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Sweet Orange Oil. I really liked the Lush Ginger Shampoo, as I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly gritty consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and spicy yet ever so slightly zesty Ginger and Mandarin scent. I really liked the Lush Mostly Face Wash, as I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and herbal yet ever so slightly medicinal Thyme and Lavender scent. I really liked the Lush Pineapple Facial Wash, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and tropical yet ever so slightly zesty Pineapple scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was available in a much smaller Tub.
