Unfortunately, Baldness seems to run in my Family, which means that i’m always on the lookout for anything that will either prevent me from losing my Hair or help me retain the Hair that I already have. That’s why when the guys over at Sons very kindly asked me if I would like to try some of their DHT Blocker Shampoo that claims to help prevent Hair Loss, I of course said yes. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Sons say about their DHT Blocker Shampoo.
Our Shampoo is formulated with Saw Palmetto which can help reduce levels of DHT in the Scalp, a Hormone that can cause Hair Loss. It also contains Argan Oil, Iron and Vitamin B3.
During Hair Loss, DHT, Dihydrotestosterone, is an Androgen Hormone that binds to the Hair Follicles leading to Hair shrinkage and loss. During this process, DHT reduces the growth phase of Hair which makes the Follicles become finer, shorter and eventually in severe or late stage Hair Loss the Follicles do not exit the growth phase. Our DHT Blocker Shampoo similar to Finasteride, works by blocking DHT and preventing Hair Loss.
It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Saw Palmetto, Argan Oil, Iron, Vitamin B3, Cedarwood Oil, Hibiscus, Amla Oil, Sage Oil, and Rosemary Leaf Oil, I thought that it had an extremely fresh and botanical yet ever so slightly medicinal scent to it that kind of reminded me of the smell of a freshly cleaned Hotel Bathroom.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Shampoo, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy, and was more like an incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Shower Cream rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly creamy Shampoo.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Hair, it turned from an incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Shower Cream into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly creamy Shampoo that spread really easily through my Hair. I also really liked that once I had finished massaging a little bit of it into my Hair, that it ever so slightly tingled for a second or so before I had to rinse it out.
It’s results.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s results, as not only did this not improve the amount of Hair Loss that I had, but it also left my Hair feeling incredibly dry and brittle for days after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a flip up Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Sons DHT Blocker Shampoo a six out of ten. I really liked it’s incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy consistency, what it did when I used it, and it’s packaging, but I jus wasn’t a massive fan of it’s extremely fresh and botanical yet ever so slightly medicinal scent or that it left my Hair feeling so dry and brittle for days after I had used it.
