From all of the delicious Finger Sandwiches, to all of the random Patisserie selection, and even the Scones layered with lashings of Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam, I absolutely love a nice Afternoon Tea, especially if it’s at some kind of Local or Small Business. That’s why when I saw that Bird & Blend Tea Company had released a Devon Cream Loose Leaf Tea that claims to taste just like freshly baked Scones and Strawberry Jam as part of their Store Blend collection whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been drinking it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

What better way to celebrate our Exeter store than launching our very own Devon Cream Tea flavoured Brew? Luxury Black Ceylon Tea with notes of freshly baked Scones, Strawberries & Vanilla. Now – is it Cream first or Jam first? Either way this Brew is delicious!

Tastes like, Berries, Cream, dessert.
Black Tea, medium Caffeine.
It’s brewing time.
It said that you were supposed to brew this for four minutes at 100ºC and serve it with a splash of either Coconut Milk or Oat Milk, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed it for any less I thought that it tasted incredibly weak and basically just tasted of really sweet Water, and that whenever I brewed it for any longer that it tasted extremely sour and just tasted of Ashwagandha. It also said that you were supposed to brew this for six hours in Coconut Milk if you wanted to Cold Brew it, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed it for any less I couldn’t really taste any of the Freeze-Dried Strawberry, and that whenever I brewed it for any longer all i could really taste was the Sri Lankan Black Tea.
It’s taste.
I absolutely loved it’s taste, as even though it contained Sri Lankan Black Tea, Ashwagandha, Freeze-Dried Strawberry, and Natural Flavouring, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly fruity Scone, Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam taste to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had accidentally dunked a Scone smothered in a thick layer of Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam into a massive Mug of Black Tea.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a massive rectangular resealable Paper Pouch which meant that all of the Tea Leaves stayed extremely fresh and didn’t lose any of their delicious flavour.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Bird & Blend Tea Company Devon Cream Loose Leaf Tea a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s brewing time, it’s delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly fruity Scone, Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam taste, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was available in some other stores so that everyone could get to try it. I also wish that it was available in a Teabag for whenever I need a quick hit of something sweet but can’t be bothered to go through all of the rigmarole of making a Mug of Loose Leaf Tea.
