You Have To Really Concentrate If you Want To Achieve Hydrated And Protected Skin | The Body Shop Edelweiss Range

After them finally coming out of administration at the beginning of the year, i’ve been rediscovering some of The Body Shop’s products, especially their Skincare, as even though I adore their Body Butters, Hand Creams and Shower Gels, I haven’t really tried that much of their Skincare range. That’s why when I saw that they had released an Edelweiss range that claims to leave you with silky soft, hydrated and protected Skin whilst I was out Shopping a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pop in and check everything out. Well after checking everything out, I eventually picked up a Bottle of the Edelweiss Daily Serum Concentrate, and a Jar of the Edelweiss Smoothing Day Cream, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what The Body Shop say about both amazing products.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Alcohol Denat, Sodium Hyaluronate, Benzyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Salicylic Acid, Green Beach Bud Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Adenosine, Edelweiss Flower/Leaf Extract, Linalool, Citronellol, Moringa Seed Oil, Mallow Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Pale Butterfly Bush Flower Extract, Benzoic Acid, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Sorbic Acid, Limonene, and Edelweiss Callus Culture Extract, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and powdery yet ever so slightly zesty Moringa scent to it that kind of reminded me of walking past a Moringa Tree on a balmy Spring Afternoon.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Serum Concentrate, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Gel rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly oily Serum Concentrate.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Gel into a thin and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily Facial Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, a little bit younger and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Glass Bottle with a Rubber Pipette Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Heptyl Undecylenate, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Salicylic Acid, Polyglyceryl-3 Distearate, Caffeine, Tocopherol, Fragrance, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Gluconate, Adenosine, Edelweiss Flower/Leaf Extract, Linalool, Citronellol, Moringa Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Citric Acid, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Edelweiss Callus Culture Extract, and Xanthan Gum, I thought that it had a very strange deep and grassy yet ever so slightly musky Dead Leaves scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you walk over a pile of Dead Leaves on a chilly Autumn Afternoon.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Day Cream, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Milk rather than a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Day Cream.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Milk into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Facial Lotion that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, a little bit younger and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes. I did however notice that it didn’t really work that well with SPF though, as no matter what SPF I used, at some point during the day it always started to pill and leave little flakes of dried Day Cream all over my Face.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Glass Jar with a metallic screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate The Body Shop Edelweiss Daily Serum Concentrate a nine out of ten, and the The Body Shop Edelweiss Smoothing Day Cream an eight out of ten. I really liked The Body Shop Edelweiss Daily Serum Concentrate, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and powdery yet ever so slightly zesty Moringa scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had contained even more Hyaluronic Acid to leave my Skin feeling a little bit more hydrated. I really liked The Body Shop Edelweiss Smoothing Day Cream, as I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly oily consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and grassy yet ever so slightly musky Dead Leaves scent. I also wish that it had worked a little bit better with SPF, as it meant that I was only able to wear it when I knew I wouldn’t be going anywhere near the Sun.
