When the patches of Eczema underneath my Eyes first started to appear, I was prescribed a very strong Hydrocortisone Cream as well as a Tube of the Aveeno Oat Cream by my Doctor to try and hopefully calm them down and minimise the amount of redness that they left behind. However, even though i’ve barely used the Hydrocortisone Cream, i’ve been using the Aveeno Oat Cream religiously which means that i’ve more or less finished using it all and would prefer not to visit my Doctor again just for a Tube of Moisturiser that I could probably pick up from my local Pharmacy. That’s why when I saw that By Beauty Bay had released a Colloidal Oatmeal + Oat Lipid Rich Moisturiser that also contains Colloidal Oatmeal and claims to leave you with silky soft, soothed and moisturised Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what By Beauty Bay say about their Colloidal Oatmeal + Oat Lipid Rich Moisturiser.

Its scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Oat Kernel Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Squalane, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Oat Kernel Flour, Cetearyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Fructose, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Winter Cherry Root Extract, Citric Acid, Tocopherol, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Potassium Sorbate, I thought that it had a very strange deep and musky yet ever so slightly nutty Oatmeal scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you open a massive Bag of Rolled Oats.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Moisturiser, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy Body Butter rather than a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly watery Moisturiser.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy Body Butter into a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly watery Moisturiser that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it manage to soothe and hydrate the patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes without irritating them or making them worse.
It’s packaging.
I really liked its packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the By Beauty Bay Colloidal Oatmeal + Oat Lipid Rich Moisturiser a nine point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and musky yet ever so slightly nutty Oatmeal scent. I also wish that it was available as a Body Butter or a Body Lotion, as I think that it would be perfect for anyone that suffers from dry and irritated Skin.
