Apart from some kind of Cleansing Oil, one of my favourite ways to cleanse my Face at the end of a long day definitely has to be with some kind of thick and buttery Cleansing Balm, as I just love how squeaky clean, silky soft, hydrated and nourished it leaves my Skin feeling. That’s why when I saw that the Boots 24 Days of Skincare 2025 Advent Calendar contained a Tub of the Byoma Melting Balm Cleanser that claims to leave you with squeaky clean, silky soft, hydrated and nourished Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website last year, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Hydrate and nourish.
This buttery-soft, deeply hydrating Cleansing Balm effectively melts away even the most stubborn Makeup, SPF and Impurities while helping strengthen the Skin’s Barrier.
Formulated with our Barrier Lipid Complex, Olive Fruit, Sea Buckthorn and Grapeseed Oils to nourish and hydrate Skin, without clogging Pores or leaving an oily residue. This clinically proven lightweight formula enriched with Niacinamide helps to immediately boost Skin Radiance and hydration.
The soft, velvety texture melts into an Oil on contact with Skin for a sensorial cleansing experience, leaving Skin perfectly cleansed, soothed and silky-soft.
Dermatologist tested and approved, non-comedogenic, Alcohol Free, Vegan and Cruelty Free.
How to use.
Scoop a pea sized amount onto dry Skin and massage in circular motions.
Add a splash of Warm Water to emulsify and rinse thoroughly.
Follow with your preferred Second Cleanser.
It’s scent.
I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Olive Fruit Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Synthetic Wax, Babassu Seed Oil, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ceramide NP, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Sphingolipids, Tocopheryl Acetate, Palmitic Acid, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Stearic Acid, and Myristic Acid, I thought that it had a delicious deep and grassy yet ever so slightly musky Grape Seed scent to it that kind of reminded me of walking past a Grape Tree on a boiling hot Summer’s Day.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Cleansing Balm, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and buttery yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and buttery yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Butter rather than a thick and balmy yet ever so slightly buttery Cleansing Balm.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and buttery yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Butter into a thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Cleansing Balm that spread really easily across my Face. I also really liked that once I had started to add a little bit of Water to it, that it turned from an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Cleansing Balm into a thin and milky yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Milk that was really easy to remove.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, soothed, calm, refreshed, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.
It’s packaging.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though this came in a short cube-shaped Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves, because it’s Lid was a screw top Lid, it was really difficult to open and close especially when I had wet Hands.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Byoma Melting Balm Cleanser an eight out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and grassy yet ever so slightly musky Grape Seed scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wish that it had come in a Tub with a screw top Lid that was a little bit easier to open and close.
