One of my favourite products from The Ordinary, apart from their Natural Moisturising Factors + HA and their Retinal 0.2% Emulsion, definitely has to be their Squalane Cleanser, as I just love how cleansed, silky soft and hydrated it leaves my Skin feeling. Unfortunately though, as soon as the Weather starts to change my Skin starts to go a little haywire and doesn’t get on with it that well. That’s why when I saw that they had released a Glycolipid Cream Cleanser that claims to offer the same great cleansing properties but in a Cream Format whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what The Ordinary say about their Glycolipic Cream Cleanser.
The Glycolipid Cream Cleanser effectively cleanses the Skin and removes Makeup such as Foundation, Eyeliner, and Mascara. This formulation uses a Plant-Derived Glycolipid Cleansing Agent that cleanses the Skin while respecting the Skin Barrier to maintain hydration. Additionally, this Cleanser is formulated to be non-stripping to respect the Skin’s Natural pH.

Dispense product into Hands.

It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Behenyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Glycolipids, Pentylene Glycol, Polyglyceryl-6 Dicaprate, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Diutan Gum, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Sodium Phytate, Phytic Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, and Chlorphenesin, I thought that it had a very strange sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly metallic Yoghurt scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured some Yoghurt on to a massive Sheet of rusty Metal.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Cream Cleanser, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Hot Cloth Cleanser rather than a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Cream Cleanser.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Hot Cloth Cleanser into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Cleansing Milk that spread really easily across my Face.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, soothed, refreshed, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall tapered conical Plastic Tube with a clickable Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly metallic Yoghurt scent. I also wish that it was available in some kind of Travel Size Tube, as even though a 150ml Bottle Cleanser is fantastic when you’re at Home, it isn’t so great when you want to go away for the Night.
