Even though I don’t really wear Makeup, apart from the occasional bit of Green Colour Corrector to even out any Red Spots, I love using any kind of thick and buttery Cleansing Balm to cleanse my Face with at the end of a long day. That’s why wen I saw that Boots had released a Fresh Faced Skincare Favourites Edit that contained a Tub of the E.L.F Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm that claims to leave you with silky soft, cleansed, soothed and hydrated Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of months ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what i thought of it.

Here’s what E.L.F say about their Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm.

What it is.

A solid Cleansing Balm that melts into a luxurious Oil to easily melt away Makeup.

How to use.

Step 1. Scoop out a dime-sized amount of Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm with the included spatula and massage on to dry Skin.
Step 2. Moisten your Fingertips and continue to massage into the Skin using circular motions. For Makeup Removal, apply all over carefully ensuring that your Eyes are closed and watch your Makeup melt away!
Step 3. Rinse with Water or remove with a Warm damp Cleansing Cloth.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained cetyl ethylhexanoate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, hydrogenated polydecene, peg-20 glyceryl triisostearate, peg-10 isostearate, sunflower seed oil, hydrogenated sunflower seed oil, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, ceramide 3, ceramide 6 ii, ceramide 1, hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate, phytosphingosine, glycerin, butylene glycol, water, polysorbate 20, carbomer, xanthan gum, cholesterol, sodium lauroyl lactylate, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, caprylyl glycol, geraniol, linalool, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly nutty Lemon and Sunflower Seed scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured some freshly squeezed Lemon Juice into a massive Bottle of Sunflower Seed Oil.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Cleansing Balm, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and balmy yet ever so slightly buttery, and was more like an incredibly thick and balmy yet ever so slightly buttery Shaper Paste rather than a thick and buttery yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Balm.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and balmy yet ever so slightly buttery Shaper Paste into a thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Cleansing Balm that spread really easily across my Face. I also really liked that once I had started to add a little bit of Water to it, that it turned from an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Cleansing Balm into a thin and milky yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Milk that was really easy to remove.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, soothed, calm, refreshed, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the E.L.F Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly nutty Lemon and Sunflower Seed scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was available in a much bigger size, as 56.5g of a Cleansing Balm doesn’t really last that long, especially if you’re using it every night to remove your Makeup and SPF with.
