With me taking such great care of my Skin by applying multiple different Serums, Facial Oils and Moisturisers every day, you would have thought that I would also wear some kind of SPF to protect it from the Sun’s harmful Rays. But I unfortunately don’t and only use an SPF if i’m leaving the House, as most of the SPF’s that i’ve tried in the past have either felt really heavy on my Skin or have left it feeling incredibly sticky and greasy. That’s why when I saw that Garnier had released an Ambre Solaire Super UV Face Fluid SPF50+ that claims to have a super light-weight texture and instantly absorb into your Skin whilst I was scrolling through Boots’ Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Developed for the sensitive Face area, our formula with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E offers very high SPF protection to help prevent Sun induced Dark Spots, while protecting Skin from Pollution induced oxidative stress. It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained water, Alcohol Denat, Diisopropyl Sebacate, Silica, Isopropyl Myristate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Bisthylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Butyl, Methoxydibenzoylnethane, Glycerin, C1 2-22Alkyl, Acrylate/Hydroxyethylacrylate Copolymer, Propamediol, Drometrizole Trisiloxane, Perlite, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Hydroxyethylcelluose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Thermus Thermophillus Ferment, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Caprylyl Glycol, Tirephthalylidene Dicanphor Sulfonic Acid, Acrylates/C10-30, Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, and Potassium Sorbate, I thought that it had a very strange deep and metallic yet ever so slightly minty scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had mixed some Peppermint Oil with some of the fluid that you find inside of a Permanent Marker Pen.
It’s consistency.
I absolutely loved it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Facial SPF, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous, and was more like an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Hyaluronic Acid Serum rather than a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Facial SPF.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Hyaluronic Acid Serum into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Facial SPF that set within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy, matte, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it felt so light-weight that I couldn’t tell that I was wearing a Facial SPF, and that it also didn’t manage to break me out like most of the other Facial SPFs that i’ve tried in the past have done.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short rectangular Plastic Bottle with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves. I also really liked that it fitted really easily into my Pocket, as it meant that I could carry it around with me and reapply it throughout the day.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Garnier Ambre Solaire Super UV Face Fluid SPF50+ a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and metallic yet ever so slightly minty scent. I also wish that it was available in a much bigger Bottle, as 40ml of a Facial SPF doesn’t last that long, especially if you’re reapplying it two or three times a day.
