A couple of months ago, I accidentally cut part of my Finger whilst I was cleaning so severely that it got infected that I needed Antibiotics to get rid of it. Once it had finally healed though, I was left with a massive Scab that just would not go away which means that i’ve been on the lookout for anything that would return it to it’s usually silky soft, calm and hydrated-feeling former self. That’s why when I remembered that I had bought the Boots 24 Days Of Skincare 2025 Advent Calendar that contained a Tube of the Lanolips 101 Ointment that claims to help calm, soothe and hydrate dry, chapped and cracked Lips, Cuticles and Skin Patches whilst I was scrolling through their Website last year, I obviously had to dig it out and start using it. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

It’s scent.
I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Lanolin, and Tocopherol, I thought that it had a very subtile sweet and earthy yet ever so slightly musky Lanolin scent to it that kind of reminded me of walking past a Sheep Enclosure at a Petting Zoo on a balmy Spring Afternoon.
It’s consistency.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s consistency, as even though it was called an Ointment, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly oily Skin Relief Balm rather than a thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Ointment.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly oily Skin Relief Balm into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Lip Balm that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Lips, Cuticles and any other Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, calm, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised ,but it also left them looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though this came in a short conical Plastic Tube with a screw top Lid that fitted really easily into my Pocket, because of it’s incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly oily consistency, I found it very difficult to get any of it out of it’s Tube and would have preferred it if it had come in some kind of a Metal Tin with a screw top Lid instead of in a Plastic Tube with a screw top Lid..
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Lanolips 101 Ointment an eight out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s very subtile sweet and earthy yet ever so slightly musky Lanolin scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly oily consistency. I also wish that it had come in some kind of a Metal Tin with a screw top Lid instead of in a Plastic Tube with a screw top Lid so that it was a little bit easier to use.
