Even though I don’t really rate Lush’s Skincare range that highly, I do actually quite like their Body Butters, Body Creams and Body Lotions, as I think that they’re usually quite good value for money given the size of their Tubs. The only trouble however is that I wish they had a few more scents to choose from, as even though I absolutely love Karma Cream Body Lotion and Lime Bounty Body Butter, I don’t necessarily want to smell of them all of the time. That’s why when I had heard that they had released a Bionic Body Cream that claims to leave you with silky soft, moisturised and firmer-feeling Skin, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Lush say about their Biomic Body Cream.
Firming and beautifying!
What’s in it for you?
This rich, gentle Body Cream is so lovely you’re sure to make time to care for that easily neglected Chest Area. Take me into your Skin, a fresh, thick and firming Body Lotion imbued with beautifying Flowers, Herbs and Oils to soften and nourish your Neck, Shoulders and Décolletage. Vitamin-rich Avocado, Almond and Sacha Inchi Oils combine with Evening Primrose to protect and rejuvenate the Skin, while Meadowsweet, Rose and Orange Blossom Honey soothe and soften. This beautiful formula is also Self-Preserving, so you can care for that delicate area with peace of Mind.
What’s in it for the World?
In addition to being Self-Preserving, Biomic is made with carefully sourced Plant Oils that care for your Skin and the Planet. Organic Almond Oil is sourced from Andalusia where Farmers support biodiversity, sustainable Water Management and pollination with Bees, while responsibly produced Jojoba Oil from Peru is grown without the use of Herbicides, Pesticides or Fungicides. Lovely jubblies!
What is Self-Preserving?
We want to make products that care for your Skin Barrier with minimal interference to your Microbiome, the community of resident Microorganisms that protect your Skin against Pathogens. The effects of preservatives on our Microbiome, the environment and our health are not yet fully clear. But because preservatives are biocidal, we prefer to use them in minimal amounts below legal maximums, or not at all. We achieve this with clever product formulation, fast despatch from our Factories and short Shelf Lives. Where a product is formulated to stay fresh, effective and safe to use without the use of Synthetic Preservatives (as defined under Annex 5 of the E.U Cosmetic Regulations), we call it ‘Self-Preserving’.
How to use.
After bathing or showering, massage gently into those easily forgotten areas, the Neck, Shoulders, Chest and Arms, to keep the Skin soft and dewy. Store in cool, dry conditions and handle with freshly washed Hands. Best used fresh within six months.
Its scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Meadowsweet Infusion, Glycerine, Organic Almond Oil, Propylene Glycol, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fresh Rose Petal Infusion, Organic Jojoba Oil, Stearic Acid, Tigerlily Extract, Organic Avocado Oil, Sacha Inchi Oil, Organic Cold-Pressed Evening Primrose Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Organic Orange Blossom Honey, Triethanolamine, Lemongrass Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil, Jasmine Absolute, Beeswax, Benzyl Salicylate, Citral, Limonene, Linalool, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a very strange sweet and floral yet ever so slightly fishy Tigerlily scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you walk past the Fish Counter in a Supermarket after they’ve just finished cleaning it.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Body Cream, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy Body Butter rather than a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Body Cream.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy Body Butter into a thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy Body Lotion that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, firm, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it smelling of very strange sweet and floral yet ever so slightly fishy Tigerlily for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Black Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Lush Biomic Body Cream an eight out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange sweet and floral yet ever so slightly fishy Tigerlily scent.
