Discovering The Legendary Essence Of Soybean | Mixsoon Bean Essence

One of the main reasons that I love Japanese and Korean Skincare so much definitely has to be all of the cool and quirky formulas that they have on offer, as from their Essences, to their Lotions, and even their Milky Toners, I adore how lightweight on my Skin they feel. That’s why when I saw that LookFantastic had released a K-Beauty Edit that contained a Bottle of the Mixsoon Bean Essence that claims to use Fermented Soybean Extract to leave you with silky soft, smooth, hydrated and glowing-looking Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

A short cylindrical clear plastic bottle full of some pale yellow liquid with a bright white plastic pump Lid and a bright white label that has Mixsoon Bean Essence written in bold black writing on it, on a white background.

Here’s what Mixsoon say about their Bean Essence.

A lightweight, hydrating formula that smooths Skin Texture and reduces the look of roughness. Enriched with Fermented Soybean Extract, a Pomegranate-derived AHA, and Barley Beta-Glucan, it gently removes Dead Skin buildup while deeply nourishing and hydrating. It absorbs quickly without greasiness and is suitable for daily use, even for Sensitive Skin. Free from harsh Exfoliants and Artificial Fragrances, and tested with a 0.00 irritation score, it delivers clean, effective care for a smoother, refreshed, and moisturised complexion.

Perfect for.

  • Dry, dehydrated, or rough Skin.
  • Skin in need of Barrier Support and long-lasting moisture.

How to use.

PM Routine.

  1. Apply a few pumps of the Essence to your Face and gently massage in with your Fingers until fully absorbed.
  2. Use a warm Towel or Toner Pad to wipe away any remaining impurities.
  3. Follow up with a Moisturiser for a smooth, clean finish.

AM/PM Routine.

  1. Apply a few drops of Essence to your Face and tap gently until the product is fully absorbed, leaving your Skin hydrated.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Propanediol, Glycerin, Soybean Ferment Extract, Pomegranate Fruit Ferment Extract, Barley Seed Ferment Filtrate, and Pear Juice Ferment Filtrate, I thought that it had a very subtile sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly creamy Pear scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poached some Pears in a massive Pan of Semi-Skimmed Milk.

It’s consistency.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Facial Essence, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy Gel-Cream Body Lotion rather than a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly watery Facial Essence.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy Gel-Cream Body Lotion into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Cleansing Milk that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, refreshed, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Mixsoon Bean Essence an eight point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s very subtile sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly creamy Pear scent, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy consistency. I also wish that it was available in a much bigger Bottle, as 50ml of a Facial Essence doesn’t really last that long, especially if you’re using it Morning and Evening like you’re supposed to do.
