With all of the hot and humid Weather that we’ve been having lately, it seems to have really aggravated the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes. This means that i’ve been on the lookout for anything that will return both my Skin and my Under Eyes to their incredibly silky soft, calm and hydrated feeling former self. That’s why when I saw that The INKEY List had released an Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum that claims to boost hydration and build a stronger Skin Barrier whilst I was scrolling through Amazon a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

It’s scent.
I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Propanediol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Coconut Alkanes, Ectoin, Hydrolysed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Maltodextrin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Panthenol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sclerotium Gum, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Stearate, Jojoba Esters, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Citrate, Sunflower Seed Wax, Citric Acid, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Oat Kernel Extract, Glycerin, Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Triethyl Citrate, Pentylene Glycol, Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Ceramide NP, Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramide AP, Cholesterol, Phytosphingosine, Behenic Acid, Sodium Levulinate, Polyglycerin-3, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, and Ceramide EOP, I thought that it had a very subtile deep and nutty yet ever so slightly sweet Coconut and Oat scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had topped a Bowl full of Porridge with some Flakes of Desiccated Coconut.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency,. as even though it was called a Facial Serum, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous, and was more like an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous Facial Oil rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly oily Facial Serum.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and oily yet ever so slightly gelatinous Facial Oil into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly watery Facial Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, calm, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, a little bit younger and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes, and in some cases actually managed to calm, sooth and repair them whenever I was in the middle of a Flare-up.
It’s packaging.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though this came in a short conical Plastic Tube with a twistable Lid and a Nozzle Applicator that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves, I would have preferred it if it had come in some kind of a Glass Bottle with a Rubber Pipette Lid so that I could control exactly how much of it I was using.,
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate The INKEY List Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s very subtile deep and nutty yet ever so slightly sweet Coconut and Oat scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wished that it had come in some kind of a Glass Bottle with a Rubber Pipette Lid so that I could control exactly how much of it I was using.
