You Spin Me Right ‘Round, Baby, Right Round | Lush Hanukkah 2023 Range

I have quite a lot of Jewish readers and Friends, but i’ve always noticed that the Jewish Community is severely underrepresented when it comes to limited edition ranges to celebrate things like Hanukkah, Purim, or Yom Kippur. That’s why when I had heard that Lush had released a Hanukkah 2023 range that’s been designed by one of their Jewish Employees, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up a Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb, and a Gelt Melt Lush Melt, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Lush say about both delicious smelling products.

The Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb.

Gimme Gimme Gimel.
Our first-ever Dreidel Bath Bomb is here in time for Hanukkah celebrations, and perfect for long soaks on cold Nights. The floral aroma of Orange Flower Absolute blends with warm Cinnamon, and the spicy, Amber notes of Myrrh Resinoid for a comforting, fruity-floral scent.
The custom of playing Dreidel on Hanukkah is based on a legend that during the time of the Maccabees, when Jewish Children were forbidden from studying the Torah, they would defy the decree and study anyway. When a Greek Official came close, they’d put away their Books and take out Spinning Tops, claiming they were just playing Games.

How to use.

Spin this four-sided Top straight into the Tub for a fizzy fragrant soak in Purple Waters.

How to store. Keep cool and dry until you’re ready to play and try for that Gimel glory.

The Gelt Melt Lush Melt.

A dual-use sweet Cocoa and Vanilla Fragrance, for your Bath or Oil Burner.
A creamy, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter Bar to melt in your Bath or Oil Burner and fill your space with its comforting, Cocoa aroma. This rich, Chocolate-scented Bar is part of our limited-edition Hanukkah collection, inspired by the Chocolate Coins that are given as Gifts during Hanukkah and used to bet in the Game of Dreidel. This sparkling Gold Bar represents the Gold Foil that wraps the Coins, while Blue and White swirls resemble the drips of melting Menorah Candles.
Lush sources the Cocoa Butter used in this product from the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Sierra Leone; Each of these sources are Child-Labour Free, Organic and Fair Trade.

To use in a Bath.

Break off 1 or 2 squares and add to your hot Bath to melt and release the sweet, softening Oils.

To use in an Oil Burner.

Break off 1 or 2 squares, add to your Oil Burner making sure it is on a flat surface. Add your Tea Light to fill the Air with the Cocoa and Vanilla Absolute aroma.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Cornstarch, Alcohol Denat, Fragrance, Myrrh Resinoid, Orange Flower Absolute, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Water, Titanium Dioxide, Corn Protein, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Eugenol, Colour 45410, Colour 77491, and Colour 42090, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly spicy Red Apple scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you bite into a perfectly ripened Red Apple.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once it hit the Water, it fizzed and hissed for a couple of seconds before releasing streams of beautiful bright Purple all over the surface of the Water, and then after a couple more seconds it also released streams of gorgeous bright Pink all over the surface of the Water that eventually blended together to turn my entire Bath a stunning shimmering Magenta colour.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it smelling of delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly spicy Red Apple for hours after I had used it.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Cetearyl Olivate and Sorbitan Olivate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Polysorbate 20, Silica, Glyceryl Stearate, Fragrance, Almond Oil, Cocoa Absolute, Australian Sandalwood Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Titanium Dioxide, Organic Extra Virgin Olive oil, Water, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Propylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Colour 77491, Colour 77007, Colour 42090:2, and Colour 42090, I thought that it had a delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly nutty Milk Chocolate scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had crushed up an entire Bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once it hit the Water, it ever so slowly started to melt before releasing streams of beautiful bright Blue, gorgeous bright White and mesmerising bright Gold all over the surface of the Water that eventually blended together to turn my entire Bath a stunning shimmering bright Blue colour.

Its scent throw.

I really liked it’s scent throw, as one Cube managed to fill my entire Room with it’s delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly nutty Milk Chocolate scent that lasted for hours even after I had stopped burning it.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 6 hours of burn time out of each individual Cube, but as I used an Electric Wax Melt Warmer, I easily got at least 10 hours of delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly nutty Milk Chocolate scent out of it.

It’s packaging.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though this came wrapped in a really thick piece of Recycled Paper that I thought looked really professional, I would have preferred it if it had come in some kind of a Plastic Tub or Tray.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb an eight out of ten, and the Lush Gelt Melt Lush Melt an eight point five out of ten. I really liked the Lush Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly spicy Red Apple scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Cinnamon Leaf Oil. I really liked the Lush Gelt Melt Lush Melt, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly nutty Milk Chocolate scent, what it did when I used it, it’s scent throw, and it’s burn time, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very basic packaging.
