Even though I don’t really use Sheet Masks anymore as I just don’t have the time or patience for one, I do love any kind of Japanese or Korean Skincare, whether that’s a Cleanser, a Face Mask, or a Toner, as I love trying all of the cool, quirky and sometimes just down right weird formulas that they have on offer. That’s why when I saw that VT Cosmetics had released a Pro Cica Reedel Shot 100 2 Step Hydrogel Mask that claims to leave you with silky soft, soothed and hydrated Skin whilst I was scrolling through Boots’ Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well I finally used it the other day, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

As the Mask absorbs, it transforms from a solid, Jelly-like Sheet into a flexible, clear layer, allowing the active ingredients to deeply penetrate and revitalise the Skin.
How to use.
Step 1.
After applying Toner to a cleansed Face, apply the Hydrogel Mask, adjusting for a snug fit.
For optimal results, leave the mask on for twenty to fourty minutes.
For more intensive care, wear the Mask for two to three hours.
Step 2.
Remove the Mask and gently massage any remaining Essence into your Skin.
Step 3.
Adjust the Mask for a perfect fit within the first few minutes.
Step 4.
Use the extra circular Patches from the Eye and Mouth openings on areas needing extra care.
It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Butylene Glycol, Macadamia Seed Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polyisobutene, Silica, Glycereth-26, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Adenosine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Sorbitan Olivate, Cica Extract, Jojoba Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Beta-Sitosterol, Xanthan Gum, Polyquaternium-51, Allantoin, Yoshino Cherry Extract, Celery Extract, Disodium EDTA, Jericho Rose Extract, DNA, Ceramide NP, Madecassoside, Asiaticoside, Beta-Glucan, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Tea Tree Leaf Extract, and Propolis Extract, I thought that it had a very strange sweet and musky yet ever so slightly grassy Potato scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you peel some Potatoes when you’re making some Mashed Potato.
It’s material.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s material, as even though this was made out of a very thick and soft Microfibre Tissue that felt incredibly soft against my Skin, I unfortunately found that it had managed to rip quite a lot when I had removed it from it’s packaging, especially around the Eye and Chin areas.
It’s size.
I really liked it’s size, as this managed to perfectly fit my Face, as I didn’t have to stretch it out around the Eye, Forehead or Chin Areas like some of the other Sheet Masks that i’ve tried in the past.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had squeezed Step One out of it’s Pouch and had started to massage it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Gel into a thin and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Facial Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds. I also really liked that once I had removed Step Two from it’s packaging and had smoothed it across my Face, that it started to release lots of thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Serum all over my Skin that set within a matter of seconds and securely stuck the Microfibre Tissue to my Face so that I could move around without worrying that it was going to fall off.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, calm, refreshed, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for at least an entire 24 hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.
It’s packaging.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though Step One and Step Two came individually packaged in their own separate Plastic Pouches that were connected together, I found it incredibly difficult to open Step Two once I had opened Step One, as quite a lot of the Serum from the Step One side inevitably got on to the closure of Step Twos side.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the VT Cosmetics Pro Cica Reedel Shot 100 2 Step Hydrogel Mask an eight out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s size, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange sweet and musky yet ever so slightly grassy Potato scent, or it’s very easy to tare material. I also wish that it had come in two unconnected Plastic Pouches so that it had been a little bit easier to open.
