Empties #5 | January 2018 to September 2018

I used to post Empties videos over on my YouTube Channel, which was where I would tell you all of the products that i’ve used up lately and whether or not I would re-purchase them again, and I thought that I would revive it as a Blog series..

Before I start, I just want to say that i’ve been collecting all of these products since the beginning of the year, so please keep that in mind, as I know that I use a lot of products, but even I can’t use up this many in a couple of months.

Anyway, that’s enough of me rambling, here’s everything that i’ve used up lately.

A light Green rectangular hessian tote Bag full of some different shaped plastic bottles and some glass jars, on a white background.

What I would repurchase.

  • Admiral Grooming Antioxidant Moisture Balm with Artichoke extract. This was a fantastic everyday Moisturiser that smelt great and didn’t leave my Skin feeling greasy, but it’s probably not for you if you have oily Skin.
  • B. Vitalised Vitamin Spritz. This was a brilliant Facial Spritz that smelt fantastic and made my Skin look like i’ve just done my entire skincare routine in seconds, but I did find that it took a couple of minutes to set.
  • Garnier Moisture Bomb Night Cream. This was a great nighttime moisturiser that smelt incredible and sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds, but it’s probably not for you if you have oily Skin.
  • Origins By All Greens Foaming Deep Cleansing Mask. This was a fantastic but weird feeling Face Mask that left my Skin looking and feeling like I had just had a Facial, but I think that there’s a lot more Face Masks currently on the market that give the same results for a lot less.
  • Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. This was a very thick and creamy nighttime moisturising Mask that took quite a while to set, but once it eventually had done, it left my Skin feeling incredibly plump and moisturised. It’s definitely not for you if you have oily Skin though.
  • The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane. This was a great and extremely cheap moisturising Serum that left my Skin feeling incredibly hydrated and moisturised, but I did find that it left it feeling a little greasy for a minute or two after I had used it.
  • The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. This was a great budget friendly alternative to my beloved Pixi Glow Tonic , that even though didn’t smell the best, left my Skin feeling incredibly clean and looking really plump..

What I wouldn’t repurchase.

Lips.

What I would repurchase.

  • Bulldog Original Lip Balm. This was a great Wintertime Lip Balm that left my Lips feeling extremely hydrated and tasting of really sweet Peppermint.
  • Lip Smacker Coca Cola Lip Balm. This was a great hydrating Lip Balm that left my Lips feeling fantastic and tasting of one of my favourite drinks.
  • Lip Smacker Fanta Lip Balm. This was a fantastic hydrating Lip Balm that left my Lips feeling fantastic and tasting of fresh and zesty Oranges.
  • Lip Smacker Sprite Lip Balm. This was a great Summertime Lip Balm that left my Lips feeling really hydrated and tasting of delicious fresh and zesty Lemon & Lime.
  • Lush Santa Baby Lip Scrub. This was a really fine and gritty Lip Scrub that left my Lips feeling super soft and tasting of delicious sweet and sugary Cherry Coke.

Hands.

What I would repurchase.

  • Lush Golden Pear Soap. This was a delicious smelling Soap that was unfortunately discontinued, but because of it’s ingredients I found that it got used up extremely quickly.
  • Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter. This was a great Cuticle Butter that left my Hands and Cuticles feeling fabulous, but I did find that it was a little bit difficult to spread whenever I used it.
  • The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Hand Cream. I loved it’s scent and what it did to my Hands, but there’s just other Hand Creams that I like to use more.

What I wouldn’t repurchase.

  • Lush Chocolate Easter Egg Soap. This was unfortunately discontinued as it was only a limited edition product, but it didn’t really smell that great and I found that the scent didn’t linger on my Hands as much as I would have liked it to.
  • Lush Moustachio Soap. I loved it’s fresh and minty scent and what it did to my Hands, but I just didn’t like that it turned my Bathroom Windowsill a lovely shade of bright Blue that took ages to remove.
  • Lush Stairway To Heaven Soap. I loved it’s delicious Violet scent and what it did to my Hands, but I just didn’t like that it turned my Windowsill a lovely shade of bright Blue that took ages to remove.

Body.

What I would repurchase.

  • Lush Bubbly Shower Gel. This is one of my favourite Shower Gels of all time, but it was unfortunately discontinued as it was only a limited edition product.
  • Lush Ocean Salt Body Scrub. This was a fantastic Body Scrub that left my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft and smooth, but I think that it’s a little bit over priced for what is essentially just Vodka, Lime and Salt.
  • Lush Santa’s Belly Shower Jelly. This is one of my favourite Shower Jellies of all time, but it was unfortunately discontinued as it was only a limited edition product, luckily i’ve bought several back ups.
  • Mitchum Clean Control Roll On Deodorant. This was a fantastic Deodorant that left me feeling dry all day, but I did find that it’s strange Gel consistency took quite a long time to set.
  • Mitchum Ice Fresh Roll On Deodorant. This was a fantastic Deodorant that left me feeling dry all day, but I really didn’t like that it had such an overwhelming scent to it.
  • The Body Shop British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter. This was a fantastic Body Butter that left my Skin feeling silky soft and looking radiant, but it’s scent was just a little bit too overpowering for me to be able to use it everyday.
  • The Body Shop British Rose Shower Gel. This was a great moisturising Shower Gel that left my Skin feeling silky soft and incredibly squeaky clean, but it’s scent was just a little bit too overpowering for me to be able to use it everyday.
  • The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Shower Gel. This is another one of my all time favourite Shower Gels, but it’s a little bit hard to get  hold of now as it’s strangely only available online.
  • The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Body Sorbet. This was unfortunately discontinued as it was only a limited edition product, but it had a great thin and balmy consistency to it that was perfect to use during the Summer.
  • The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Shower Gel. This was unfortunately discontinued as it was only a limited edition product, but it smelt amazing and left my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean.
  • The Body Shop Passion Fruit Body Butter. This was one of my favourite Body Butters of all time, but it’s unfortunately been discontinued now.
  • The Yorkshire Soap Company Invigorating Body Lotion . This was a great hydrating Body Lotion that made my Skin feel amazing, but I did get a little bit bored of it’s fresh and zesty scent by the time that I had eventually used it all up.

What I wouldn’t repurchase.

  • DayDry Deodorant Intense Freshness Roll On Deodorant. It was a great all natural deodorant, but it’s really hard to get hold of and unfortunately didn’t really manage to keep me dry all day.
  • Lynx Africa Body Spray. I unfortunately just don’t like the smell of Lynx deodorants.
  • Lush Wash Behind Your Ears Shower Gel. This was a great shower gel that left me feeling squeaky clean, but I just didn’t like it’s strange zesty yet musky scent
  • Radox Feel Fantastic Cherry Shower Gel. This just didn’t smell enough of Cherries to make me want to absolutely love it.
  • The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Shower Cream. This was a fantastic Shower Gel, especially if you suffer from dry Skin, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s extremely creamy scent.
  • The Body Shop Satsuma Energising Body Butter I love the entire The Body Shop Satsuma range, but for some strange reason, this had an overwhelming floral undertone to it that totally overshadowed it’s fresh and zesty Satsuma scent.
  • The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Mist. This was unfortunately discontinued, but because I bought so much of the range i’m kind of a little bit bored of it’s scent now.
  • The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter. This was unfortunately discontinued, but because I bought so much of the range i’m kind of a little bit bored of it’s scent now.
  • The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Lotion. This was unfortunately discontinued, but like the Body Butter and the Body Mist, because I bought so much of the range i’m kind of a little bit bored of it’s scent now.
  • The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Shower Gel. This was unfortunately discontinued, but like the rest of the range, because I bought so much of it i’m kind of a little bit bored of it’s scent now.

Hair.

What I would repurchase.

Candles.

What I would repurchase.

  • Aldi Pomegranate Noir Candle. This was a fantastic budget friendly Candle that filled my room in minutes, and totally lives up to the Jo Malone Candle that it’s trying to copy.
  • George Lamptey London Beyond Love Candle. This was the perfect Winter to Spring transitional Candle that although took a while to completely fill my room, eventually left it smelling musky, floral and fruity all at the same time.
  • Yankee Candle Passion Fruit Martini Candle. This was the ultimate Summer Candle as it’s fresh and punchy Passion Fruit scent filled my entire House with a delicious summertime scent within a matter of minutes.

What I wouldn’t repurchase.

    • Candles Just 4 U Lemongrass & Verbena Candle. It was a delicious smelling Candle, but I just can’t justify it’s extremely hefty price tag.
    • George Lamptey London Passion Candle. This was a delicious Candle, but it just smelt far too sweet for my liking.
    • George Lamptey London Sweet Honey Candle. This was a fantastic Autumn to Winter Candle, but it’s sweet Caramel scent gave me a massive headache whenever I burnt it.
    • Kiss Air Candles Black Cherry Ice Cream Candle. This unfortunately just wasn’t strong enough to fill my room, which was a real shame as it smelt incredible in it’s Tin.
    • Kiss Air Candles Mojito Cocktail Candle. This unfortunately just wasn’t strong enough to fill my room, which was a real shame as it smelt incredible in it’s Tin..
    • Kiss Air Candles Peach Bellini Cocktail Candle. This unfortunately just didn’t manage to fill my room, which was a real shame as it smelt incredibly strong in it’s Tin…
    • Yankee Candle Luscious Plum Candle. I really liked it, but I just got a little bit bored of it’s fresh and fruity yet slightly floral scent after a while.
    • Yankee Candle Peppermint Martini Candle. This unfortunately gave me a headache after I had burnt it for a couple of hours and also didn’t manage to smell as nice as the Candy Cane Lane that I hoped it would resemble.
    • Yankee Candle Tuscan Vineyard Candle. This was a delicious smelling Candle that smelt remarkably like the Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel, but it was just far too watery and subtile for my liking.

There you go, that’s everything that i’ve used up lately.
I was very kindly sent a few things within this post, but all thoughts, opinions, and general ramblings are my own.
